On Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the annual Center open house will feature many exhibits, children’s activities and at 12:30 a special presentation will honor attorney Sara Marler, formerly with the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office, who successfully prosecuted the case where an opossum was set on fire in University City last year.
Admission to Open House is a choice of paper towels, unscented laundry detergent, bleach, any size trash bags, cotton balls, Q-tips and unflavored Pedialyte.
Also featured, McGruff® Safe Kids Total Identification System™, from 10 to noon. Each participating parent/child will receive a basic I.D. safety package containing two laminated, wallet-sized identification cards with a photograph and fingerprint, a 7”x 8 1/2” McGruff® Safe Kids Total Identification Card containing a large digital picture, child’s vital information and ten forensic quality prints, and a packet containing a DNA Collection Kit plus other McGruff® items.
Other Open House features include Mother Nature’s children’s activities, tours of the treatment clinic featuring baby animal feeding and a patio café with light snacks and refreshments. Staff and volunteers will be available to answer questions about wildlife issues throughout the event.
